Hair Loss diseases and diseases causing hair loss

Hair fall and hair loss are two different things. The symptoms of hair fall include that which damages the hair shaft not the hair follicles, and even if hair follicles are affected, then that’s temporary which can be overcome with time and/or treatment. Hair loss is but the damaging of a hair follicle which impairs hair growth causing hair miniaturisation, permanent thinning of density, receding hair line and baldness.
The major cause of hair loss being androgenic alopecia or male pattern baldness which is the common baldness we see in men. It is neither a hair disease nor an effect of a disease causing hair loss, it is a natural characteristic due to genetic inheritance, which cannot be stopped or reversed. But with hair restoration it can either be restored by using the baldness resistance hair in the back of the scalp to be redistributed to the bald areas to achieve an even density. Hair loss medications can also accommodate to slow the hair loss down by fighting it, if not stop it.
Sometimes, the hair growth period is often disturbed wherein the lengthening period speeds up and sheds off sooner than it is supposed to. Once such condition is Telogen Effluvim which occurs due to malnutrition, illness, pregnancy and child birth, usually this kind of hair loss is temporary and as the health and hormonal secretions stabilize the hair density sustains with its former glory.

Hair loss and Thyroid disease
Thyroid is a gland which functions into circulating the balance of metabolism, and the production of oxygen in the body, and diseases like hyperthyroidism are believed to be causing temporary or permanent hair loss and baldness. Diffusive hair loss (DPA/DUPA) is diagnosed to be common among women who also have any thyroid disease or disorder, usually, such patients are hardly ideal candidates of hair transplant surgery, medication might be the only option to fight the hair loss that hair restoration.
Let’s face it, every individual experiences some amount of hair loss with due course of life, especially when they age. This doesn’t always have to end up in baldness or receding hairline, but in case of menopausal women, 2out of 3 women would affirmed that they had some amount thinning of the overall density of their hair.
Cancer Treatment
This is obviously the most widely known case, that cancer treatment medications and radiation, which is actually to destroy the carcinoma cells, does, in the process also destroy essential stem cells progenitor that are vital to promote hair growth. Hence baldness is irreversible.
Pregnancy and childbirth often results in telogen effluvium or shock loss, which can be permanent or temporary.
